Please note that all prices are quoted in South African Rand. Rates and / or conditions quoted in our brochures/adverts are subject to change without notice.
BOOKING & PAYMENT DETAILS
Advance bookings can be made using the booking form. Alternatively contact us directly via the contact form or email. In order to secure an advance booking for a Lekker Camper, a non-refundable pre-payment fee of R1,500 will be debited from the driver's provided credit card.
The remaining balance of the total booking fee must be made before or at time of collection using the credit card provided at booking.
RENTAL DURATION
Minimum rental is 5 days unless otherwise agreed with Lekker Camper. Number of rental days are calculated on a 24 hour cycle basis.
ONE-WAY FEES
We deliver and collect our vehicles for free from any location within 30 km of Cape Town international airport. Pick-up or drop-offs to all other major airports are subject to a cost-only based one-way fee. This is by prior arrangement only. One way fees are listed on the price pages.
CROSS BORDER CHARGE
If you wish to take the vehicle across the border then a cross border refundable deposit applies. This needs to be arranged in advance so that we can sort out all the documentation for you. Vehicles are currently allowed to travel within South Africa, Lesotho & Swaziland. Travel into Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia & Zimbabwe is currently not allowed. Please contact us if you would like any clarification.
Lekker Camper have the right to restrict travel in certain
areas due to adverse weather conditions, political circumstances or for any other
reasons as deemed fit.
HOURS FOR PICK-UP & DROP-OFF
We deliver our vehicles for free between 08:30 and 17:00. A fee of R150 will be charged for pick-up and drop offs outside of these times.
AA FLEETCARE PLUS COVER
All our vehicles are covered by full AA FLEETCARE PLUS cover 24:7 in South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland. Please contact Lekker Camper for more details if required.
COVER OPTIONS
Standard Lekker Cover (Free)
Standard cover is included in the daily rate and in the event of any damage to either a Lekker Camper vehicle or third party vehicle / property, the hirer will be liable for the first R10 000 (R20 000 in case of theft).
Note: hirer is responsible for replacement or repair of windscreen and / or radio, all tyre damage and interior furnishings damage and/or loss
Pretty Lekker Cover
Pretty Lekker Cover at R100 per day will reduce this excess for any damage to either the Lekker Camper Hire vehicle or third party vehicle / property to R7 000 (R14 000 in case of theft). The option of Pretty Lekker Cover will also waive the excess for replacement or repair of radio.

Well Lekker Cover
Well Lekker Cover at R175 per day for all vehicles will reduce the excess for any damage to either the Lekker Camper Hire vehicle or third party vehicle / property to R3 000 (R6 000 in case of theft). The option of Well Lekker Cover will also waive the excess for replacement or repair of windscreen and / or radio.
Note: hirer is responsible for all tyre damage and interior furnishings damage and/or loss
EXCLUSIONS
A full list of exclusions can be seen in the Full Terms and Conditions. As a summary the hirer will be fully liable for any damage to the Lekker Camper vehicle or third party vehicle and / or property if:
- The terms of the rental contract are breached
- Damage to the vehicle is caused by careless, willful or reckless driving
- Damage to the vehicle is caused due to incorrect use of clutch, handbrake etc.
- Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Driving on restricted roads / areas
- Water submersion or salt-water damage is caused
- No other vehicle, animal or person is involved
- or where another vehicle, animal or person is involved but sufficient details thereof are not provided
In case of any damage to the Lekker Camper vehicle or third party vehicle / property a second excess will be collected to cover any subsequent damage.
Personal injury and belongings are not covered. The client is therefore responsible to obtain his or her own travel insurance.
INFRINGEMENTS
Lekker Camper reserves the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines, associated administration costs and / or accidents including third party vehicle / property damage not reported on the return of the vehicle.
ACCIDENTS
If the rental vehicle is involved in an accident and is not drivable, a replacement vehicle, if available, may be collected from Lekker Camper.
If the hirer requires a replacement vehicle to be delivered, then these charges will be payable by the hirer. None of the excess reduction options cover this eventuality.
The hirer is responsible for the recovery of the damaged vehicle to the original rental depot.
If the hirer is unable or unwilling to take a replacement vehicle, no refunds for early termination of the contract will apply.
No refund of rental days lost will be considered during the period in which a replacement vehicle is being organised.
Should there be no replacement vehicle available, no refund for lost days will be considered.
Should the hirer continue with a replacement vehicle then a new rental contract and insurance conditions will apply.
Lekker Camper reserves the right to apply the above conditions as they deem fit.
CREDIT CARDS
The insurance excess can only be paid by credit card (the amount will be locked on the card and the amount will have to be authorised by the bank). This is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, at the agreed time with no damage incurred to the Lekker Camper vehicle or third party vehicle / property.
PASSPORT
A full valid passport is required for all International bookings.
IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT R.S.A. CITIZENS
A full valid South African I.D. document is required for all bookings made by South African citizens or a full valid passport may be used.
LICENCE
A valid non-endorsed driver's licence is required (must be in English) - international licence is preferred. It is the drivers responsibility to ensure that he/she carries their drivers licence with them at all times whilst driving. This is a legal requirement in South Africa.
MINIMUM AGE
Drivers must be 21 years or older. For drivers less than 23 years old an additional R1,000 excess is charged.
ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Vehicles may be taken into South Africa's neighbouring states where permission has been given in writing by Lekker Camper, but are not allowed into Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia or Zimbabwe. All insurance cover is void if vehicles enter prohibited areas.
Vehicles are allowed to travel on any properly tarred surface. Good smooth sand roads are also permitted. There are areas however that are not suitable for driving with a camper including: the Swartberg Pass (SA), the Sani Pass (SA), Kalahari Gemsbok Park (Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park), the road to the Sentech Towers in Marakele Park (SA), Baviaanskloof Pass (SA), 4x4 trails, the Skeleton Coast Park (Namibia), the short road from Hobas to the Viewpoint (Fish River Canyon), Van Zyl's Pass (Namibia), Sandwich Harbour (Namibia), Kaokoland (Namibia), narrow and steep single lane mountain passes and any road in South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana and Namibia that do not adhere to the condition of roads as mentioned above. We also do not take responsibility from damages arising out of fast speeds and long distance driving on the washboard roads (especially D-roads) in Namibia.
Lekker Camper have the right to restrict travel in certain

reasons as deemed fit.
REPAIRS
Lekker Camper need to be contacted for authorisation.
CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Lekker Camper reserves the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle should the requested vehicle not be available due to unforeseen circumstances. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to any refund.
CANCELLATION FEES (non World Cup)
- If cancelled 28 days before pick-up = No fee
- If cancelled 27 to 8 days before pick-up = 25% of gross rate
- If cancelled 7 days to 1 day = 50% of gross rate
- If cancelled less than 24 hours or no show = 100% of gross rate
- If vehicle is returned early for any reason no refund will be considered.
Please note: - In all the above instances, the initial booking confirmation deposit is non-refundable.
WORLD CUP CANCELLATION FEES (01 June 2010 - 21 July 2010)
- If cancelled 91 days before pick-up = No fee
- If cancelled 90 days to 61 days before pick-up = 25% of gross rate
- If cancelled 60 days to 31 days = 50% of gross rate
- If cancelled 30 days to 7 days = 75% of gross rate
- If cancelled less than 7 days or no show = 100% of gross rate
- If vehicle is returned early for any reason no refund will be considered.
Please note: - In all the above instances, the initial booking confirmation deposit is non-refundable.
TAXES
Above prices are subject to change in accordance with changes in government taxes.
