'Camp & Caravan' by Map Studio Review
'Nothing is more rewarding than taking the family on a camping trip, spending quality time together and enjoying the wonders of Mother Nature'. Map Studios new camping and caravan guide assists travellers in choosing their destination in South Africa. There is a plethora of handy keys and icons to help you find the campsite that suits your budget and requirements. From 1 star to 4 star and R50 to R400, this guide is sure to help you find the right place to stay. You can check out the type of resort too with listings of coastal, mountain, 4x4, Spa, National Park or Nature reserve, river, lake or dam, country or desert. The key is a little baffling at the beginning, but once you get used to it then it serves the purpose in providing you with all the information you could possibly need.
The guide is split by region and within each region there's a zoomed in map by area. This is especially useful to work out exactly where the campsite is. There's GPS coordinates listed, so if you've got your Tom Tom then just key in the number and listen to the directions.
There are some campsite photos in the guide, but only for the lucky few campsites so these are more for decoration then to use as a real comparison.
Attractions & activities in each area are listed which provides an added bonus to give you some ideas of what to do with the family, friends or partner.
We like this guide and are planning on using it in our campervans to see what our customers think. If I had to come up with a negative then published in 2012, we just hope they bring out an updated version every couple of years to avoid the information getting out of date. Otherwise, a big thumbs up and well done to Map Studio for a comprehensive and useful camping guide for South Africa.
