Day 1 - Cape Town

You will arrive on your overnight flight to Cape Town International Airport - where a member of Lekker Camper will meet you with your lekker campervan. Head for Cape Town and explore this wonderful city. Take a dip in Camps Bay before driving over the picturesque Chapman’s Peak.

Day 2 - Simons Town and the Cape Peninsula

You will wake up to the noise of penquins at the nearby Boulders beach. Explore old Simons town and do not miss a coffee & delicious cake at Something Sweet cafe in the high street. Then drive to the Cape Point. Explore the wonderful scenery and take in the amazing views from the light house. Then head back via Kommetjie along False Bay to Stellenbosch

Day 3 - West Coast

The Postberg nature reserve is really worth visiting during South Africa spring flower season (August/September). It's a short drive from Langebaan around the lagoon, through the West Coast National Park. The Lagoon is ideal for wind & Kite surfing.

Day 4 - Paternoster and Cape Columbine

Paternoster is a picturesque fishing village located a mere one hour drive North of Cape Town. Famous for its crayfish, a stay in Paternoster is perfect for any traveler looking to get off the beaten tourist path and experience a taste of the real South Africa.

Day 5 - Elands Bay and the West Coast

Elands Bay is a small town on the West Coast of South Africa that has managed to maintain the laid-back lifestyle for which the West Coast is so well known. Only 200 km from Cape Town, Elands Bay is the perfect place to unwind with peaceful surroundings and an endless beach. It is also a great place to enjoy activities like rowing, sailing, surfing, rock climbing, mountain biking, bird watching, whale watching and fishing to name a few.

Day 6 - Clainwilliam and the Cederberg

The Cederberg is renowned for its spectacular landscapes and rock formations, as well as its namesake, the increasingly rare Clainwilliam cedar tree. Geologically, the Cederberg is part of the Cape Fold Belt and consists mainly of Table Mountain sandstone. Weathered sandstone formations, most notably the Wolfberg Arch and the Maltese Cross, are typical of the Cederberg.

Day 7 - Riebeeck Kasteel and the Swartland

The magnificent Riebeeck Valley, surrounded by breathtaking mountains and bursting with lush olive groves and rolling vineyards. This is a place of  peace and tranquility and Cape Town's best kept secret! The town get it's name from Jan van Riebeeck, the first commander of the Cape of Good hope. The friendly locals will warmly welcome you to experience the excellent restaurants, pubs and quaint shops with unique products produced in the Valley. Olives produced in the valley come highly recommended.

Day 8 - Montagu and the Breede River Valley

The Breede river wine region produces some best wine in the country. Pop into McGregor for small town charm. An old English Fort (1899) is positioned above the road leading into Montagu in Cogmanskloof and Long Street has 14 of the town's 22 national monuments.

Day 9 - Oudtshoorn and Route 62

What make Cape Route 62 really special, is the calm and peacefulness that it offers travellers. The route is safe so adventurers need not be concerned about their personal security. The people on Cape Route 62 is another alluring attraction. They are friendly and eager to both assist and entertain passing travellers. Ronnie's 'sex' shop (it's a cafe/bar) is the perfect stopover before continuing through the valleys.

Day 10 - Oudtshoorn and the Little Karoo

Here in the ostrich capital of the world you find the world's biggest bird in great numbers and the region produces great feathers, leather products and ostrich meat. There are many attractions in this area of interesting contrasts.. Visit one of the Several surrounding ostrich show farms. The Cango Caves are the oldest and one of the most popular attractions in the region.

Day 11 - Little Karoo and Quteniqua

Journey to South Africa’s most sought after little Klein Karoo town of Prince Albert. Prince Albert is a village with a grand entrance from whichever direction you approach. You either have to go through, around or towards the imposing Swartberg Mountains. This unique position means that every road into Oudtshoorn follows a dramatically picturesque pass or "poort" (portal). The Road out of Prince Albert take you trough the magnificent Meirings Poort. Stop at the waterfall for a Picnic or take a dip in the river. The journey continues over the Outeniqua Mountains back to the Coast.

Day 12 - Plettenberg Bay and Tsitsikamma Forest

This land lies between the sea and the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Beautiful indigenous forest is home to centuries old trees such as Yellowwood, Stink wood, Hard Pear, Ironwood, Kamassi and many others. Tsitsikamma is a khoi word meaning "place of abundant or sparkling water". Deep river gorges cleft the plateau as they make their way down to the sea, creating spectacular waterfalls and deep kloofs.

Day 13 + 14 - Addo Elephant NP and Eastern Cape

Go & search for the BIG 5 in one of South Africa’s largest National Parks and home to the BIG 7! Addo Elephant National Park (proclamation in 1931) stretches over 5 of the worlds 7 biomes and includes a marine section. Malaria-free, the park offers an abundance of wildlife that includes over 450 Elephants, Lion, Black Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, a variety of Antelope and so much more…wild Africa! Day 15 - Jeffrey's Bay and Sunshine Coast

Welcome to the renowned surfer’s paradise, Jeffrey's Bay. Home to some of the world’s best waves and golden beaches, Jeffrey's Bay offers trendy restaurants for lunch and a multitude of factory shops offering branded surf-wear at discounted prices. Plenty of time to shop, eat and catch some sun! For a quieter alternative try St Francis by Seal Point.

Day 16 - Storms River

Tsitsikamma National Park, encompasses a marine reserve made up of 80km of coastline and offers the visitor magnificent scenery, walks, a small beach, restaurant and shop. The famous Storms River suspension Bridge spans the river mouth.  Look out for the gruff call of the beautiful Knysna Lourie bird. This is an adventures dream with kloofing, tree-top tours and the highest bungi jump in the world just around the corner. Day 17 - Knysna and the Garden Route

Knysna has been called South Africa’s favourite small town and with its stunning lagoon location, numerous art galleries, craft shops and the excellent Knysna Quays marina shopping and dining complex, it’s not hard to see why. The Garden Route, as its name implies, really is a scenic treat! This magnificent stretch of coastline encompasses mountains, lagoons, pristine beaches, indigenous forests, wetlands teeming with birds, lakes and mountains, all blended together in a feast of sheer natural beauty: it really has it all.

Day 18 - Swellendam and the Overberg

After Cape Town and Stellenbosch, Swellendam is the third oldest settlement in South Africa. Laying at the foot of the beautiful Langeberg mountains this place is not only famous for its youngberries, but as well as for its architecture and its history. The nearby National Park is a place of simplistic beauty and peaceful charm. The majestic Langeberg Mountains provide a picturesque backdrop for this Park that is home to the endangered bontebok. The Breede River provides an idyllic western border to the park and offers guests scenery, bird watching, fishing, and a refreshing swimming spot.

Day 19 - Arniston and the Foot of Africa

Head ‘way down south’ to the southernmost point of Africa and the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans, Cape Agulhas. Although renowned for its turbulent weather, evident in the shipwrecks hidden under the dark waters, Agulhas also plays home to an abundance of migrating whales and dolphin in season. After a visit to the point, head on to the 2nd oldest lighthouse in South Africa for a magnificent view of the surrounding coastline and marine reserve and the chance to send a postcard from the southernmost point of Africa! Famous for the best land-based Whale watching in the world

Day 20 - Stellenbosch and the Boland Wine region

Take the long and scenic drive to the Cape’s beautiful Winelands. If you've got time we also suggest going shark cage diving - book in advance with Lekker Camper to avoid dissapointment. During May to mid November we suggest driving via Hermanus, the world’s best spot for onshore whale watching. These gentle giants move in seemingly permanent slow motion and are a truly amazing sight as they playfully cavort in the water

Day 21 - Cape Town

Go wine tasting in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. There are an abundance of wine estates to visit, so collect a wine route map from a toursim office or decide where to stop as you go along. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the wine estate restaurants or stop-off in Franschhoek's main street for a selection of quaint cafe's and bistros. The scenery along the way is spectacular.
